While we usually see Tim hand carving joints or driving pegs during a raising, he recently applied his talents to creating a very special, and custom faux finish on several fresh Douglas fir timbers. Occasionally reclaimed timbers are not available in the lengths or thicknesses needed for a specific truss. For consistency when a mixture of reclaimed and fresh timbers are used, we mimic character marks inherent on reclaimed timbers on the fresh ones.
