Kathy and Scott and our Design Group are wrapping up the design phase of their lakehouse. The floor plan is very open — creating diagonal views through the spaces and beyond to the lake. Unhindered spaces can create privacy challenges for bedrooms, so we created a buffer using the stair and closets.  The clients wanted to keep a low profile so eaves were oriented toward the entry.  Accents of timber structure and metal roof emphasize the main entry. Design goals were to create a spacious feeling in the home with unobstruced views of Lake Erie.
